There are trips that are a destination in themselves. The Charlevoix Train is one of them.

Along the St. Lawrence for 125 km between Quebec City and La Malbaie, this rail cruise reveals the poetic beauty of villages that cling to a cliff or bask on the shore. Landscapes that are otherwise inaccessible by road, and that you cross from your seat, coffee in hand.

The “Charlevoix Crossing” connects Quebec City to La Malbaie in one day, crossing seven charming towns and villages. One of the stops is right here in Baie-Saint-Paul, allow about 45 minutes to stroll around the village before taking the train again. Enough to get a cup of coffee. Our advice: arrive by train, stay at the motel, leave at your own pace.

The departure is every morning at 8 am from the Parc de la Chute-Montmorency, with rates starting at $99 round trip. The season runs from June 13 to November 2. Fall is especially magical because the view is truly breathtaking, especially in the fall with the trees in color.
